CONTEMPLATION is a series of figurative acrylic paintings made on canvas and panel. Using universal and sometimes whimsical themes that are influenced in part by the visual memoirs of Joan Brown, the fabricated tales of exotic jungles and wild animals by Henri Rousseau and the vibrant portraits of David Hockey, they look upon the world in a calm and reflective manner. Using a vibrant and bold color palette, the viewer can delight in the dynamic play between controlled use of line, shape and color and areas of random markings.
